Mrs. Gladys Davis Brown Jackson, age 77 of Bradley Martin Lane, Barbourville, departed this life on Sunday, October 14, 2007 at her home. She was born August 25, 1930 in Clay Co., Ky. the daughter of the late Andrew Davis of Clay Co, KY and the late Nellie Davis of Barbourville. She was a member of the Boone Height Pentecostal Church and was the wife of the late Perry Jackson of Barbourville. In 1950 she united in marriage with Eli Brown and to this union seven children were born. Later in life she united in marriage with Perry Jackson and he preceded her in death. Also preceding her is death is her father Andrew Davis, her mother Nellie Davis, three brothers, Harrison Davis, Challis Davis and Larry Jean Davis, one sister, Inez Davis, two daughters, Janet Brown and Joan Lowe and two sons, Mickey Brown, Sr. and David Brown.
Her former husband, Eli Brown of Barbourville, four daughters, Lavon Bright and husband Ray of Barbourville, Kathy Smith and husband Jack of Barbourville, Marlene Brummett and fiance’ Dennis Dutton of Wise, Virginia, Ashley Brown of Barbourville, One son, Jerry Brown and wife Brenda of Barbourville, one daughter in law Lynn Brown of Barbourville, two brothers, Monroe Davis and wife Peggy and Letcher Davis and wife Ilene of Brooksville, Florida, two sisters in law Rose Mary Davis and Betty Jean Davis of Brooksville, Florida, a special granddaughter, Jerrica Brown, she also leaves behind twenty six grandchildren, twenty seven great grandchildren along with a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing. Funeral services for Mrs. Gladys Jackson will be conducted on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Leslie Broughton and Rev. Charles Eversole officiating. Pallbearers will be Eric Hobbs, Pete Davis, Jerry brown, Jackie Smith, Mickey Brown, Jim Bo Davis, Bit Chuck Taylor and Chuck Henson. Honorary Pallbearers are Jack Smith and Dr. Vora. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family would like to send a special thank you to two special friends, Jack Smith and Dr. Vora. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
