Gertrude Bray

Mrs. Gertrude Bray age 84 of Kay Jay passed away Sunday, January 16, 2011 at her residence. She was born on March 20, 1926 in Jackson County, KY to James and Kizzie Ward Browning who preceded her in death. On September 8, 1942 she was united in marriage with Edward E. Bray, Sr. She believed in the Baptist faith and was a member of Kay Jay Community Church.
Besides her husband and parents she was preceded in death by one daughter, Olivia Powers, five brothers Elwood, Ernest, Jesse, William and Ira Browning and three sisters, Ruby Davis, Clara Kelly and Edith Davis.
Survivors include two sons, Edward Estill Bray, Jr. and wife Delores, Jerry Wayne Bray and friend Susan Henderson all of Kay jay, KY, two daughters, Ella Sue Mullis and husband A.J. of Barbourville and Joyce Ann Bray of Corbin, KY and one sister, Mona McFadden of Milford, Ohio. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren and one great great grandchild along with a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services Mrs. Gertrude Bray will be conducted at the Kay Jay Community Church on Thursday January 20, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Jimmy Warren and Rev. Jimmy Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Bray Family Cemetery at Kay Jay with Grandsons serving as pallbearers. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
The family will receive friends at Hampton Funeral Home Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday at the Kay Jay Community Church from 12:00 noon until the hour of service at 1:00 p.m.
