Mrs. Georgia Morris age 84, of Heidrick, KY departed this life on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at her home. She was the daughter of Charlie & Maude (Disney) Barnes and was born in Knox County, KY on September 06, 1924. On August 30, 1941, she united in marriage with Carl Morris and to this union five children were born. Georgia was a member of the Sinking Valley Baptist Church, and was a homemaker, who enjoyed sewing, cooking, talking on the phone, and gardening. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Maude Barnes, three brothers Dallas Barnes, Denver Barnes and Edward Barnes, five sisters Minnie Sovick, Dorothy Stewart, Nettie Cobb Wagers, Clida Barnes and Effie Barnes, and two grandchildren Conley Douglas Morris and Sandra Annette Asher.



Survivors include, three sons, Rev. Vernon Morris & wife Joyce of Corbin, KY; Carl Gene Morris & wife Linda of Cannon, KY; Donnie Morris & wife Kathy of Heidrick, KY; and two daughters Margaret Joyce Hudson & husband Ralph of Heidrick, KY; Barbara Anita Trent & husband Doyle of Heidrick, KY; two brothers Bobby Barnes & wife Brenda of Girdler, KY; Andrew Barnes & wife Frances of Williamstown, KY; three sisters Jenita Bennett & husband Bill of Heidrick, KY; Joann Smith & husband I.J. of Romulus, Michigan, Pearl Hall & husband Ed of Statesville, NC; one Brother in-law Calvin Morris & wife Lourene of Corbin, KY; 15 Grandchildren Debbie Campbell, Carla Walker, Melinna Jordan, Carlene Mills, Donnie Hudson, Randall Wilson, Rita Wilson, Doylynn Hoskins, Freda Smith, Shelia Abner, Bill Cox, Carolyn Carmack, Christy Rose, Samuel Morris & Rev. Justin Morris, twenty seven great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren. Mrs. Morris also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.



Funeral Services for Mrs. Georgia Morris will be conducted at Sinking Valley Baptist Church on Friday – November 14th, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Justin Morris, Rev. Bobby Abner, and Rev. Johnny Fisher, and Rev. Alan Mills officiating with an honorary minister Rev. Earl Hammons. Pallbearers will be Grandsons, Honorary Pallbearers will be Sinking Valley Baptist Church members, the Trace Branch Community, her Great-Grandsons, Hospice Nurse Kathy Smith and nurses, Kim Branum & Shana Hudson, Dr Stargel, Dr. Cooney, and Dr. Ashburn. Mrs. Morris will be laid to rest in the Morris Cemetery at Heidrick. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements. Read Wednesday, Thursday Friday: The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel and on Friday at Sinking Valley Baptist Church from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 3:00 p.m.
