Mrs. Georgia Lee Mills, age 68 of Artemus, Ky. departed this life on Sunday evening March 23, 2008 at her home. She was the widow of Wendell Mills and the daughter of Marion Pillion & Lillie (Hurst) Pillion. Mrs. Mills was born June 16th, 1939 in Bell co,Ky. She was a member of the Himyar Baptist Church. Mrs. Mills enjoyed taking care of her family, gardening, and farming.
Her parents, husband, and sisters Edith Chavies, Ethel Smith, Fannie Miller, Mattie Mills, Mary Turner and one grandchild Matt preceded Mrs. Mills in death.
Survivors include four sons Matt Mills & wife Billie of Mills, Ky., Gary Mills & wife Geraldine of Flat Lick, Ky., Richard Mills & wife Bobbie Jean of Artemus, Ky., Johnny Miller & fiancée Kay Marsee of Himyar, Ky., one daughter Lisa Lambert & husband Mike of Barbourville, Ky., one brother Eugene Pillion of Baltimore, Maryland., one sister Bettie Chavies of Batavia, Ohio, Seven grandchildren Charles Mills & wife Christy, Wendy Bowling & husband Gary, Leann Lambert, Bridgett Lambert, Felicity Mills, Mya Mills, and Trinity Mills, two Great Grandchildren Cage Mills & Kennedy Bargo. Plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing. She also leaves behind her special companion – her dog lady.
Funeral services for Mrs. Georgia Lee Mills will be conducted on Wednesday – March 26th, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. William Bruner, Jr & Rev. Joe Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Mills Cemetery at Artemus, Ky. Pallbearers will be Jerry Baker, Mike Lambert, Johnny Miller, Gary Bowling, Scotty Blanton, Haskell Mills. Honorary Pallbearers are the staff of Tri County Hospice, Care Taker Kim Ross, Gary Smith, Garret Smith, Paul Fredrick, and Stella Smith. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all the arrangements.
