Gencie Grant

Mrs. Gencie Grant age 84 of Artemus, Ky., formerly of Kay Jay passed away on Saturday, May 16th, 2009 in the Pineville Community Hospital. She was the widow of Eursal Grant and the daughter of the late Frank & Ari Jones born to them on March 8th, 1925. Gencie was a member of the Kay Jay Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening & doing crafts.
She was preceded in death by her parents Frank & Ari Jones, her husband Eursal, one daughter Phyllis Abner, two brothers Gilbert Jones, and Billy Jones, five sisters
Polly Jones, Adria Jones, Minnie Jones, Florence Frazier and Fanny Jones, along with one infant baby sister.
Survivors include one grandson Troy Allen Abner of Artemus, KY . Gencie also leaves behind other relatives & friends to mourn her passing.
Graveside services for Mrs. Gencie Grant will conducted in the Barbourville Cemetery on Wednesday, May 20th, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jimmy Wayne Miller officiating. Pallbearers will be family & friends. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Home on Tuesday evening form 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with graveside services being held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Barbourville Cemetery.
