Mrs. Gelema Slusher, age 73 of Mills, Ky., departed this life on Sunday – January 27, 2008 In the UK hospital in Lexington, Ky. She was the daughter of the late Jeff & Reanie (Grubb) Stewart, born to them April 19, 1934. Mrs. Slusher believed in the Baptist faith, and was a member of the Salem Baptist Church, she was a homemaker an enjoyed going to the women’s Bible study group very much. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one son Stanley Slusher, and three brothers William, Vernon and Albert Jackson, also two sisters– in- law Vivian Stewart and Della Stewart.
Survivors include, her husband O. V. Slusher, one son Randall Slusher & wife Veronica, one daughter Kathy Stewart & husband Billy, three brothers Alonzo Stewart & wife Elizabeth, M.C. Stewart, Cecil Stewart all of Mills, KY, one sister Myrtle Warren of Southgate, Michigan, four grandchildren Jeffery Tilman Slusher, Jeremiah Lee Slusher, Brian Phillip Stewart, Natasha Michelle Slusher, six great grandchildren Paige Nicole Slusher, Jeffrey (Bubby) Slusher, Jessica Lynn Slusher, Caleb Slusher, Jaylen Danielle Stewart and Hailey Pointer. Mrs. Slusher also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing. Funeral Services for Mrs. Gelema Slusher will be at the Salem Baptist Church on Wednesday January 30, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Teddy Collins, Rev. Charles Carnes, & Rev. Bobby Abner officiating. Pallbearers will be Wesley Roark, Timmy Roark, Marvin Roark, Josh Collins, Larry Joe Sizemore, Randy Patterson, Tony Mills, Dewayne Killion, Wayne Woolum, Pete Mills, Pete Messer, Gary Cooper, Paul Goodin, David Bargo, Ricky Mason, and James Stewart. Interment will be at the Davis Cemetery at Acorn Fork. Hampton Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.
