Mr. Gary Lee Smith, age 42, of Bimble, KY passed away Sunday morning July 8, 2012 in the Knox County Hospital in Barbourville. He was the son of L.C. and Doris Pauline (Gray) Smith born to them on December 17, 1969 in Bell Co.
He is survived by his wife Loretta Smith, one son Anthony Lee Smith and one daughter Jennifer Ann Smith all of Bimble, his parents L.C. & Doris smith, one brother Calvin Smith, Jr. of Pineville, KY, and one sister Joann Pope of Winchester. He is also survived by one grandson Damian Smith. Gary was preceded in death by one brother Kenny Ray Smith. He also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Gary Smith will be conducted on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Metcalf and Rev. Jerry Smith officiating. Pallbearers will be family & friends. Burial will follow the Smith Cemetery at Barbourville. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
The family would like to send a special thank you to his caregiver, Kathy Smith, the Hospice staff & nurses, Dr. West and the Knox Co. Hospital nurses and staff.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. Monday evening at the Hampton Funeral Home and on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
