Mr. Gary Wayne Brown age 52 of Scalf, KY, was born May 25, 1959 in Bell County, KY, to Dewey & Myrtle (Stansberry) Brown. He departed this life on April 13, 2012 at his home.
Wayne was a very special brother and was loved by all his family. Wayne will be remembered by his gentle nature and his heart warming smile. He loved to tell jokes and had a way of making people laugh.
He enjoyed spending time with his brothers and sisters and his children. His favorite pastime was playing his guitar and listing to his favorite music. He loved his children, brothers, sisters, and his nieces and nephews.
Wayne was a carpenter by trade. He built houses for numerous people in Knox and surrounding counties. He enjoyed his work and was very successful at it.
Wayne was preceded in death by his father Dewey Brown, and his loving mother Myrtle (Stansberry) Brown. His wife Cathy Gail Carnes Brown, one son Master Toy Wayne Brown, three sisters, Judy Ann Smith, Wyoma Brown, and Dorothy Brown, three brothers, Chester Brown, Denver Brown, and M.D. Brown.
He is survived by three sons, Gary Lee Brown of Barbourville, KY, Chris Mills of Middlesex, NC, and Braydon Brown of Dewitt, KY. One daughter, Angie Drummonds of Corbin, KY, five grandchildren, Trevor, Braxton, and Kaitlyn Drummonds, Ally and Chris Mills, Three brothers, Dewey Brown, Jr & wife Jacqueline, Harvey Lee Brown & wife Melinda both of Scalf, KY and Jimmy Brown of Edgefield, SC. Four sisters, Elaine Gray & husband Garrett of Flat Lick, KY, Barbara Gray of Flat Lick, KY, Gladys Hobbs & Dempsey of Scalf, KY and Christine Brown and Fiancé David Bunch of Hickory Corners, MI, very special friends Frosty Tuttle, Ernie Taylor, Escoe Smith, Mike Brown and David Bunch, along with a very special cousin Stoney Brown plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Wayne Brown will be conducted on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brian Miracle & Rev. Stoney Brown officiating. Pallbearers will be nephews, Chester Sizemore, David L Hobbs, Randy Hobbs, Denver Brown, Dewey Brown Jr. II, Justin Smith, Bowman Gray Jr., Dalton Sizemore and Andrew Sizemore. Burial will follow in the Mud Lick Cemetery at Dewitt, KY; Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
