Fount Gibson

Mr. Fount Gibson, age 88, of Woolum, KY, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at his home. He was the husband of the late Maggie Pauline Hatfield Gibson, and the son of the late Edd and Allie Bundy Gibson, born to them on March 15,1925 in Knox County, KY. Mr. Gibson was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church and served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. In addition to his wife and parents he is also preceded in death by 2 sons, Paul and Keith Gibson, 4 brothers, Walter, Fred, F.C. and Bill Gibson, one sister, Tennie Burnette and two grandsons, Steven and Keith Vaughn.
Survivors of Mr. Gibson include seven daughters, Shirley Vaughn and husband Earl of Eminence, KY, Linda Crawford of Barbourville, KY, Barbara Gibson of Dewitt, KY, Brenda Ward of Barbourville, KY, Glenda Million and husband Terry of Annville, KY, Donna McVey and husband Dennis of Knoxville, TN, and Sherry Gibson of Woolum, KY, three sons, Larry Wayne Gibson and wife Janet of Girdler, KY, Ronnie Gibson and wife Karen of Flat Creek, KY and Bruce Gibson and wife Pam of Drakesboro, KY, twenty one grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren. Mr. Gibson also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Fount Gibson will be conducted in the chapel of the Hampton Funeral Home on Tuesday August 27 at 2:00 p.m., with the Rev. Owen Smith, Rev. David Mounce and Rev. David Barnard officiating. Burial will follow in the Betty Frost Cemetery, at Woolum. Pallbearers will be Grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers will be all staff of Barbourville Family Health, family and staff of Hinkle pharmacy, Tri County Hospice, Loretta Wagers and all family and friends. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Home Monday evening from 4:00 - 9:00 p.m., and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
