Flossie May Stewart

Mrs. Flossie May Stewart, age 73 of Barbourville, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2015 in the Barbourville Nursing Home. She was a daughter of the late Walter and Autust Creighton Gray, born to them on Saturday, May 2, 1942 in Barbourville. Flossie was a retired custodian for Boone Elementary School and was a member of the House of Prayer in Jesus Name. She also enjoyed quilting and spending time with her family. She united in marriage to Russell Stewart and to this union two children were born.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Russell, and a brother, Robert Gray.
Flossie is survived by her loving children; Roger Stewart and wife Michelle of Barbourville and Jody Foster and husband Dan of Corbin: Two brothers; Arvil Gray and wife Versia of Bimble and J.T. and wife Lenora Gray of Barbourville: One sister; Almedia Mills of Barbourville: Three grandchildren; Haley Townsley and husband Alan, Tasha Stewart and Abigail Stewart: Three great-grandchildren: Baylee, Braxton and Braylen Townsley.
Funeral services for Mrs. Flossie May Stewart will be conducted on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Frazier and Pastor Clarence Townsley officiating. Burial will follow in the Stewart Gray Cemetery in Higgins Hollow with Steve Woods, Vernon Farmer, Wayne Mills, Stacy Abner, Danny Shelton and Gary Jackson serving as pallbearers.
Friends may call at the Hampton Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 after 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. and on Wednesday, after 10:00 A.M. until the funeral hour at 2:00 P.M.
Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family of Mrs. Stewart has requested that contributions be made to the Hampton Funeral Home.
