Finley Saylor of Flat Lick, Kentucky departed this life on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at the Barbourville ARH Hospital being 85 years and 7 days of age. He was born on May 23, 1931 in Pigeon Roost, Kentucky to the late Carr Saylor and the late Vina Catherine Saylor. He was also preceded in death by his wife Oma Mills Jackson Saylor; three brothers: Joe Saylor, Gilbert Saylor and John Saylor; eight sisters: Lucy Sizemore, Ada Roark, Mae Sizemore, Chaney North, Odie Brock, Liza Mills, Dora Caudill and Ellen Saylor. Finley enjoyed spending his time tinkering in his shed, going to church and squirrel hunting. He was a former coal mining worker. He believed in the Holiness faith and was a member of Pigeon Roost Holiness Church.
He leaves behind to mourn his passing his brother Willie B Saylor of Dayton, Ohio; his niece and nephews: Chana Grubb, Carl Caudill, Lester Caudill and a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A Funeral Service for Finley Saylor will be conducted on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at 2:00PM in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. A. B. Smallwood officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Roark-Saylor Cemetery at Pigeon Roost with nephews serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM until 9:00PM on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Hampton Funeral Home.
