Mr. Farris Burnette age 69 of Williamsburg, departed this life on Thursday, November 13, 2014 in the Baptist Health Hospital in Corbin. He was son of the late Mack and Cleo (Bingham) Burnette, born to them on May 26, 1945 at Girdler, Kentucky. He retired from Ford Motor Company, where he specialized in transmission repair. He enjoyed being outdoors, 4-wheeling, hunting, shooting, repairing guns and working on cars. On July 9, 1965 he united in marriage to Ora Ledford and to this union two daughters were born. In addition to his parents, Farris was preceded in death by three brothers, Leslie, Mance and Hobert Burnette.
Farris is survived by his loving wife, Ora Burnette of Williamsburg; his daughters, Penny Michelle Sabatini and husband John of Clarksville, Tennessee and Linda Farris Poyle and husband Danny of Crab Orchard, Kentucky; One brother, Mack Burnette, Jr. and wife Jean of Rose City Michigan; four sisters, Mae Swafford of Middletown, Ohio, Wanetta Mills and husband Raymond of Taylor, Michigan, Margette Payne of Georgetown, Indiana and Arlene Shepherd and husband James of Dundee, Michigan; Two grandchildren, Matthew Poyle and Zachary Poyle. Farris also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Farris Burnette will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. Burial will follow in the Ledford Cemetery at Girdler with Danny Poyle, John Sabatini, Noah Mahan, Donald Poyle, Matthew Poyle, Bruce Graham and Zachary Pole serving as pallbearers.
Friends may be received at the Hampton Funeral Home on Saturday, November 15, 2014 after 5:00 P.M. and on Sunday, after 12:00 P.M. until the hour of service.
