Mr. Evie Gillis Brown age 70 of Flat Lick, KY departed this life on Sunday, April 1, 2012 in the Pineville Community Hospital. He was born on August 14, 1941 and was the son of Dow & Pearlie Brown and was the husband of Monnie Mildred (Gambrel) Brown.
Mr. Brown is preceded in death by his parents, Dow and Pearlie Brown, one son, James Earnest Brown and two sisters, Evelyn Brown and Viola Brown.
Left behind to mourn his passing, his wife Monnie Mildred Brown of Flat Lick, two sons, Gillis Ray Brown of Bailey Switch and Garrett Lee Brown of Barbourville, two daughters, Joyce Ann Hubbard of Barbourville and Gloria Beth Wilson of Flat Lick, eight brothers, Obie Brown, Earnest Brown , Roger Brown, Dow Brown, Jr., Johnny Brown, Gene Brown and Garrett Brown all of Scalf, KY and Virgil Brown of Fourmile, three sisters, Margaret Miller and Martha Brown both of Scalf and Rosie Brown of Barbourville and eight grandchildren. Mr. Brown also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Evie Brown will be conducted on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Teddy Collins officiating. Pallbearers will be family & friends. Burial will be in the Lige Messer Cemetery at Mills, KY. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the Hampton Funeral Home on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
