Ms. Evelyn Faye Meade age 69 of Barbourville, Ky., passed away Tuesday – March 10th, 2008 in the Oak Tree Hospital in Corbin. She was the daughter of Ernest and Ethel (Kilgore) Smith born to them on June 16, 1938 in Stone Gap, Virginia. Ms. Meade was a homemaker and was a member of the Christian Life Fellowship Pentecostal Church where she was also treasurer. She loved to cook for the church and the food program and to help out in the church in any way needed. Ms. Meade is preceded in death by her parents, Ethel & Ernest Smith, two brothers, Howard Ray Smith and Roger Dale Smith along with on grandchild.

Those left to mourn her passing are one daughter, Reda Wagers of Manchester, KY, four sons, Don Gray and Michael Gray and wife Patsy all of Manchester, KY, Jim Gray and wife Mayme of London, KY and Scott Noah of Somerset, KY, four sisters, Sue Martin and husband Mack, Brenda Tuggle of , Tina Chaffin and husband Jimmy and Debbie Russ and husband David all of Barbourville, KY, five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Ms. Meade also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing. Funeral services for Ms. Meade will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Friday morning at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. David Shelton and Rev. Dennis Chesnut officiating. Family & Friends will serve as pallbearers. Ms. Meade will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.

Friends will be received Thursday evening at the funeral home from 6:00 unitl 9:00 p.m.
