Evelyn Disney

Mrs. Evelyn Disney, age 94 of Cannon, KY departed this life on Sunday evening, July 20, 2008 in the Barbourville Nursing Home. She was born on December 15, 1913 in Knox County, KY. to the union of the late William and Brilla Hammons Hurst. She was untied in marriage to Raymond Disney who preceded her in death. Mrs. Disney loved to quilt and served as a mid wife for years and was the oldest surviving member of Sinking Valley Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two sons Jess Edward Disney and Donnie Eddie Disney two daughters Wilma Alene Disney and Mary Warren, five brothers Patton Hurst, Grover Hurst, Tip Hurst, Chester Hurst and Lester Hurst and by five sisters Cora Ball, Helen Walker, Thelma Mae Hinkle, Hazel Callebs and Nollie Harrington.

Survivors include five daughters Phyllis Lee of Cannon, Ky. Elnora Pilcher of Kings Mt. Ky. Virginia Huffman and husband Bill of Union City, California, Effie Paul and husband John of Corbin, Ky. Sue Smith and husband Hanley of Coatesville, Indiana by three sisters Gladys Glinkie of Florida, Beatrice Kon of Lavonia, Michigan and Nannie Hurst Trent of Cannon, Ky. by several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Plus a Host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing. Funeral services for Mrs. Evelyn Disney will be conducted on Saturday July 26, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Johnny Fisherand Rev. Earl Hammons officiating.  Burial will follow in the Hembree-Disney Cemetery at Heidrick, Ky. with grandsons serving as pallbearers and family and friends serving as Honorary Pallbearers. Hampton funeral home is in charge of all arrangements.

Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Home on Saturday from 12:00 noon until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
