Mrs. Evelyn Brown age 57 of Girdler, Ky the wife of Bradley Brown and daughter of Alfred Smith and the late Naomi Mills Smith passed away Friday-June 27, 2008 in the Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin. She was born March 19, 1951 in Knox Co. KY. Mrs. Brown was a member of the Clarks Branch Holiness Church. She was a loving mother and enjoyed her collection of odds and ends especially her wind chimes and home interior. In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by one son Bradley Lynn Brown.
Survivors for Mrs. Brown include: her husband Bradley Brown, daughters Kathy Collins and husband Bill of Bryant Store and Cordie Brown of Girdler, KY. sons Gary Carnes and wife Janet of Walker, Ky Stevie Carnes of Girdler, KY Bradford Brown and wife Jessica of Girdler, KY step-son Bradley Lee Brown of Scalf, Ky. sisters Dorothy Taylor and husband Kenneth of Walker, KY and Teetta Smith of Girdler, KY and brother Trenta “Trent” Smith of Girdler, KY eight grandchildren, special brothers and sisters-in-law James & the late Betty Brown, Dallas & Diane, Bill Jr. & Jerry, General & Delie, Jack & Debbie, Bowman & Judy, nephew Little General, Jr. & wife Tonya in addition to a host of friends and neighbors to mourn her passing. Funeral services for Mrs. Brown will be conducted on Tuesday-July 1, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Carnes and Rev. Tommy Frazier officiating. Pallbearers will be Cody Collins, Justin Carnes, Jamie Price, Jerry Bentin, Mike Abner, Jason Brown, Brent Ledford and Jonathan Honeycutt. Honorary pallbearers will be the Commonwealth Cancer Center, Dr. Jerry Woolum and a very special niece Shannon Mills. Burial will follow in the Smith Family Cemetery at Girdler, KY. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
