Mr. Eugene Barnes age 72 of Hinkle, KY departed this life on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at his home. He was born on December 8, 1943 and was the son of James & Ruby (Jones) Barnes and is the husband of Helen Barnes. He was a member of the Dripping Springs Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Ruby Barnes, two brothers, Laymon Barnes and Russell Barnes, his mother and father in law, Steve & Velva Price, his son in law, David Broughton and his brothers and sisters in law, Betty Price, Effie Barnes and Wayne Holland.
He leaves behind to mourn his passing his wife Helen of Hinkle, one son James Barnes of Girdler, two daughters, Tammy Mills and fiance' David Engle of Cannon and Amy Barnes and fiance' Dale Marion of Hinkle, four brothers, Kenley Barnes, Johnny Barnes and wife Jennie, Charles Barnes and Okley Barnes all of Girdler, one sister, Ruth Holland of Jarvis, five grandsons, Jason Mills and wife Stefanie of London, Nathan Broughton and fiance' Brittany Barnes of Girdler, Aaron keene of Heidrick, Jacob Broughton and Ayden Marion both of Girdler, three great grandchildren, Gaige Broughton and twins Kenley and Cameron Mills. He also leaves behind a host of many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Eugene Barnes will be conducted at Dripping Springs Baptist Church on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ricky Broughton and Rev. Mike Collins officiating. Pallbearers will be Mr. Barnes's grandsons along with Donnie Price and Donnie Price, Jr., Johnny Barnes, Ronnie Jones, Wade Holland and Kyle Holland. Honorary pallbearers will be, Carl Mills, Chelsia Barnes, Knox Co. Home Health staff, all church members of Dripping Springs, Aleshia Beverly, Nancy Bargo and Tammy & Gary Deaton. Mr. Barnes will be laid to rest in the Price Cemetery at Callebs Creek with the Hampton Funeral Home in Charge of all arrangements.
Friends & family will be received at the church on Tuesday evening after 6:00 p.m. until the hour of service on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m.
