Mr. Ester Bill Bennett age 86, of Heidrick, KY passed away Friday in the Knox County Hospital. He was the husband of Jenita Bennett and was born on May 16, 1922 in Harlan County, KY to the union of Everett Bennett and Sarah Fisher Bennett. He was a retired Postal Worker of 25 years and a Veteran of the US Army having served during WWII. He was a member of Beacon Baptist Church. He loved to play Golf and read and he loved sports especially Football and U.K. Basketball. He was preceded in death by his first wife Arlene Bennett and his parents Everett and Sarah Fisher Bennett, four brothers Homer Bennett, Eugene Bennett, Alford Bennett and Leroy Bennett and one sister Irene Hobbs.
Survivors include his wife Jenita Bennett, two sons: Donald Wayne Bennett and wife Becky of Ohio and Victor Jerome Bennett and wife Cindy of Dryden, Michigan, one daughter: Carla Faye Natale of Warren, Michigan and one step son: Gary Ledington and wife Sandra of Heidrick, KY, one brother: Everett Bennett, JR. and wife Stella of McComb, Michigan, one sister: Helen B. Messer and husband Crit of Cannon, KY, five grandchildren: Tracy Katalenie and husband Rob, Jeff Natale and husband Elaine Carrie Markley and husband Jim, Jackie Brunsden and husband Tim and Elliott Bennett, five step grandchildren: Alan Ledington and wife Helena, Steven Ledington and wife Londa, seven great grandchildren Brittany Katalenie, Nick Natale, Tori Natale, Lyndsey Natale, Matthew Katalenie, Benjamin Brunsden and Fiona Barkley, seven step great grand children Gavin Ostroff, Cole Ostroff, Elaine Werner, Asa Werner, Emma Ledington, Kaylee Ledington and Marlee Ledington. Plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. Funeral services for Mr. Ester Bill Bennett will be conducted on Wednesday January 14, 2008 in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Denvil Taylor, Rev. Vernon Morris and Rev. Dennis Chesnut officiating. Burial will follow in the Bingham Cemetery at Cannon. Pallbearers will be E.G. Abner, Gary Smith, Gene Morris & Jerry Bennett. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bee Abner, Charles Fisher, Ollie Wagers, Stan Florek, Rob Katalenie, Nick Natale, Everett Bennett, Jr, Matthew Katalenie, Crit Messer, Knox County Hospital Long Term Care Staff, Dr. West, Dr. Pederson and Dr. Warren. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all the arrangements. The family will receive friends at Hampton Funeral home Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
