Mrs. Estel Campbell age 86, of Gray, KY passed away Sunday, March 1, 2009 at the Saint Joseph Hospital in London. She was the wife of Harold Campbell, and the daughter of the late Marion & Alza (Sanders) Anderson born to them on February 13, 1923 in Knox County.
Estel was a member of the Paint Hill Baptist Church and was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, reading, and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother Coleman Anderson, and one sister Thelma Ulrich.
Survivors include: Her husband of sixty eight years, Harold Campbell of Gray, KY, four sons Bobby Campbell & wife Priscilla of Barbourville, KY, Terry Campbell & wife Eve of Corbin, KY, Denny Campbell & wife Barbara of Barbourville, KY and James Campbell & wife Faye of Barbourville, KY, two daughters Pansy Blair & husband Orville of Mechanicsburg, Ohio, Barbara Leger & husband Bobby of Barbourville, KY, two brothers Troy Anderson & wife Kailee of Jacksonville, Florida, Dewey Anderson & wife Bessie of Kathleen, Ohio, thirteen Grandchildren, eighteen Great Grandchildren, and one Great Great- Grandchild. Mrs. Campbell also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Mrs. Campbell will be conducted on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Denvil Taylor & Rev. Vernon Morris officiating. Pallbearers will be David Lager, Jimmy Campbell, Paul Campbell, Gary Campbell, Dale Campbell & Jeff Campbell. Mrs. Campbell will be laid to rest in the Brown Cemetery on Walker Park Road. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
