Mr. Ernest Clyde Wilson age 72 of Barbourville departed this life on Monday, June 21, 2010 at his home. He was the son of Clyde Wilson and Ethel (Estes) Wilson born to them on September 11, 1937 in Harlan, KY. On October 3, 1955 he united in marriage with Lillian Ruth Adams and to this union one son was born. Mr. Wilson was a farmer and a mechanic and he believed in the Baptist faith. He was a hard worker and enjoyed his farm and cattle and also enjoyed fishing.
He is preceded in death by his son Thomas Wilson, his parents, Clyde and Ethel Wilson and three sisters, Charlotte Shields, Shirley Wilson and Edith Wilson.
Those left behind to mourn his passing is his wife of fifty-five years, Lillian Ruth Wilson of Barbourville, one brother, Bert Wilson and wife Jackie of Chattanooga, TN, two sisters, Lois Morrow of Leitchfield, KY and Margaret McCormick and husband Mack of Ocala, Florida. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and several brothers and sisters in law to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Ernest Wilson will be conducted on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Denvil Taylor officiating. Pallbearers will be paul Owens, Cameron Hudson, Mike Shields, Jim Ballard, Arley Smith, Doug Shields, Steve Wilson and Bill Oxendine. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Little Poplar Creek Fire Dept and Dr. Larry Warren. Burial will be in the Partin-Wilson Cemetery. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the Hampton Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 11:00 a.m.
