Mr. Elmer Baker age 62, of Scalf, Ky. passed away Tuesday at the Knox County Hospital. He was the son of Charles Eugene Baker and Della Smith Baker born to them December 3, 1945. Mr. Baker enjoyed riding his four-wheeler, working on cars and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. He was of the Baptist faith.
His parents, one sister Bonnie Powell, two brothers A.J. Baker and Dennis Ray Baker and one nephew Joshua Scott Smith preceded Mr. Baker in death.


Survivors for Mr. Elmer Baker include one daughter Brenda Hobbs of Flat Lick, KY one son Charles Elmer Baker of Dewitt, KY one sister Barbara Hall and husband Wayne of Flat Lick, KY and two brothers Elvis Jay Smith and wife Prudie of Woolum, KY and Mack Baker and wife Kathlene of Barbourville, KY. Mr. Baker also leaves behind three grandchildren Charles Anthony Baker, Jonathan Baker and Victoria Miranda Earley in addition to a host of nieces and nephews to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Baker will be conducted on Friday-April 18, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home with Rev. Kennon Roark and Rev. Herman Mills officiating. Pallbearers will be Don Hobbs, Poncho Hobbs, Robert Cooper, Larry Baker, Jerry Baker, M.J. Baker and Wesley Roark. Burial will follow in the Macro Branch Cemetery, Scalf, KY. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.   The family will receive friends tonight from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service at 2 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
