Mrs. Ellen Mills age 83 of London, KY departed this life on Thursday evening, March 24, 2016 in the Christian Care Communities in Corbin, KY. She was the daughter of Jeff Warren and Lucy Warren Blankenship born to them on September 13, 1932 and was raised by Jeff & Martha Hubbard. On March 15, 1948 she united in marriage with Chris Mills and to this union three children were born. Mrs. Mills had been a store merchant for several years at Walker, KY along with her husband Chris and was also a homemaker and loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Mt Olivet Baptist Church in London.
She is preceded in death by her husband Chris Mills, her parents, Jeff Warren and Lucy Blankenship, one daughter Phyllis Mills, a granddaughter, Devonna Gail Brown, three great grandchildren, three brothers Virgil Warren, Jeff Warren, Jr. and MacArthur Blankenship and one sister, Rosa Lee Thomas.
Left behind to mourn her passing, her two children, daughter Ruth Smith and husband Roscoe and son, Billy Mills and wife Wanda Sue Mills all of London, KY, two brothers, J.E. Blankenship and wife Myra of Gray, KY and Jim Tom Mills and wife Martha of Road Fork, six sisters, Opal Cavanaugh of Madisonville, KY, Fleta Marie Beard of Evansville, Indiana, Genetta Mills and husband General of Cincinnati, Ohio, Barbara Ann Hammerstein and husband Mike of Evansville, Indiana, Wilma Broughton and husband Junior of Gray, KY and Donna York and husband James of London, six grandchildren, Deanie Smith and wife Darlene, Jessie Smith, Christine Van Dijk, Georgia Ann Mills, Bridgett Messer and husband Colson and Ronda Eldridge and husband Jason, eighteen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. She also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ellen Mills will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, March 28, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Lonnie Collett, Rev. Donnie Mills and Rev. A.Y. Mills officiating. Pallbearers will be, Cody Slusher, William Ross Brown, Colson Messer, III, Dustin, David and Tyler Stopher, Dillion Vandijk, Adam Napier and Eric Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be, Cadence, Ashton and Trae Eldridge, Presley Messer, Jackson Brown, Dalton Smith, Alexis and Amber Hilderbrand, Bentley Smith, Brandy Vandijk, Tannah Roland, Maddie Slusher and Jade Brown. She will be laid to rest in the Mills-Smith Cemetery in London , KY. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Home on Saturday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
