Mr. Eldon “Ray” Shaffer, age 50 of Girdler, Ky. departed this life on Thursday evening August 16, 2007 in the Knox Co. Hospital. Born July 4, 1957 to Ezra Eldon Shaffer and Bernice Smith Shaffer in Whitley Co., Ky. Mr. Shaffer was a former mechanic at Whites Chevrolet. His parents preceded Mr. Shaffer in death.
Survivors for Mr. Eldon “Ray” Shaffer is his wife Sheila (Isom) Shaffer of Girdler, Ky., his daughter Amanda Shaffer also of Girdler, Ky., his son Arnold Shaffer and wife Jessica of Corbin, Ky., two brothers Gary Shaffer and wife Vanda of Manchester, Ky., Harrison Shaffer and wife Mona of Winston Salem, NC. Mr. Shaffer also leaves behind two grandchildren Morgan and McKenna in addition to a host of friends and neighbors to mourn his passing. Graveside services for Mr. Eldon “Ray” Shaffer will be conducted on Monday-August 20, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Garrison & Pittman Cemetery on Little Bull Creek with the Rev. Owen Smith officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
