Elbert Mills

Mr. Elbert Mills, age 64, of Barbourville, KY. departed this life on Saturday July 12, 2014 in the Baptist Health Hospital in Corbin, KY. He was the son of the late Marsh and Lula Bailey Mills. Elbert was a former sawmill worker and believed in the Holiness faith. In addition to his parents Elbert was also preceded in death by five sisters; Julie Sowders, Viola Downs, Goldie Hollingsworth, Cordia Bingham and Loretta Mills and seven brothers; Albert Mills, Edward Mills, Cloyd Mills, Lonis Mills, Gene Messer, Wilfred Mills and Anderson Mills.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Mrs. Kathy Mills of Barbourville, KY., two sons, Willard Marsh (Willie) Mills of Barbourville, KY. and Elbert (bitt) Mills Jr. and wife Brittany of London, KY., one daughter Haley Townsley and husband Allen of Barbourville, KY., three foster children Shawn Mosley, Charles Fowley and Christopher Durbin, five sisters, Sue Bates and husband Rick of Berea, KY., Judy Wagner of Barbourville, KY., Kathy Gambrel and husband Larry of Barbourville, KY., Effie Miller and husband Bill of Salem, Indiana and Betty Mills of Barbourville, KY., three Grandchildren, Brayden Mills, Baylee Townsley and Braxton Townsley and a host of other relatives and friends left to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Mills will be conducted in the chapel of the Hampton Funeral Home on Tuesday July 15, 2014 at 11:00 am with the Rev. Herbert Hoskins and Rev. Ray Dean officiating. Burial will follow in the Doolin-Tuggle Cemetery at Heidrick. Pallbearers will be Adam Smith, Eric Smith, Shawn Smith, Dennis Smith, Jim Cheek, Robert Cameron and Chris Gambrel. Honorary Pallbearers will be Andy Smith, Robert Turner and Joey Hoskins.
The Mills family will receive friends on Monday from 6 until 9 pm and Tuesday from 10 am until the hour of service at 11 am at the Hampton Funeral Home. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
