Mr. E.J. Barton, age 67 of Woodbine, Ky departed this life on Saturday-February 9, 2008 in the Knox Co. Hospital. He was the son of the late Raymond & Dorothy (Lovitt) Barton, born to them in Knox Co. Ky on July 28, 1940. On August 8, 1960 he united and married Aline Rosie Garland, and to this union six sons were born. Mr. Barton was a member of the Dowis Chapel Holiness Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trading knifes & guns. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son E.J. Barton. Jr., and Two brothers Ernest Barton, Leslie Barton.
Survivors include: His wife of 47 years Rosie Barton of Woodbine, Ky., Five sons Darnell Barton & wife Sandy, James Barton & wife Connie, Raymond Barton & wife Doris, Doug Barton & fiancé Crystal, Randall Barton & wife Sharon all of Woodbine, Ky., One brother Harris Barton & wife Tammy of Woodbine, Ky., Three sisters Lovetta Robinson & husband Wes, Loretta Carter & husband Paul, all of Woodbine, Ky., Wilma Paul of Rockhold, Ky., Eleven Grandchildren, One Great Grandchild, Four Step Grandchildren, Three Step Great Grandchildren. Special Friends, Uncle Harold Ray & Shirley Barton, Dwayne & Bonnie Garland, Arnold & Louise Mills, and many nieces and nephews, relatives and friends to mourn his passing. Funeral Services will be conducted at the Chapel Grove Baptist Church on Tuesday – February 12th, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. With the Rev. Jimmy Elliott and Brother Mike Bennett officiating. Pallbearers will be Micheal Robinson, Wesley Carter, D.J. Barton, Brian Barton, David Barton, James Lee, Harold Ray Barton, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers Dr. West, Dr. Kumar, Dr. Peterson, The staff of the Knox County Hospital and Home Health Care and Brenda. Interment will be at the Barton Cemetery with Hampton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
