Mr. E.G. " General" Mills age 79 of Barbourville, KY departed this life on Monday, January 11, 2016 in the Continue Care Hospital in Corbin, KY. He was the son of the late Walter and Alma (Davis) Mills, born to them February 22, 1936. Mr. Mills was a member of the Roadside Baptist Church. He loved UK basketball and being outdoors .He liked to rabbit hunt and squirrell hunt, but especially loved to spend time with his grandchildren and family. He united in marriage on September 14, 1961 to Ada Mills and to this union four children were born. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Steven G. Mills, two brothers, Robert and John Franklin Mills, one sister, Opal Mills, one brother in law, Calvin Morris and one daughter in law Amy Denise Jones Mills.
General is survived by his wife Ada Mills of Barbourville, two daughters, Ima Faye Mills Hale and husband Lee Roy Hale of Corbin, Pamela Kay Mills White and husband James Nicholas White of Bimble, KY, one son Stanley Ray Mills and wife Eydie J. Mills of Corbin, KY, seven grandchildren, Emily Desirae Hale, Karalee Faith Hale, Audrey Nicole White Altenhof and husband Eric Anthony Altenhof, Abigail Denae Mills, Aaron Ray Mills, Tony Huffman and Trevor Huffman, two brothers, Alford Wayne Mills and wife Earlene Mills of Barbourville, Walter Jr. Mills and wife Sandra Mills of Phoenix, Arizona, two sisters, Shirley Mills Smith and husband Tom Smith of Phoenix, Arizona and Lorene Mills Morris of Corbin, KY. General also leaves behind many other special friends and relatives to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. General Mills will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 12:00 noon with Rev. Denvil Taylor and Rev. Gary Daugherty officiating. Pallbearers will be Steven Mills, Earl Dean Mills, Aaron Mills, Brandon Mills, Doug Mills, Eric Altenhof, Tony Morris, Scott Mills. Honorary pallbearers will be family & friends. Mr. Mills will be laid to rest in the Davis Cemetery at Acorn Fork. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 12:00 noon.
