Edna Lee Jordan, age 81, of Girdler, passed away Sunday at St. Joseph London Medical Center. She was the widow of the late Golden Jordan whom she was married to for 64 years. Edna was born on September 25th, 1930 in Knox County to the late Gilbert and Lona Smith. Edna was a homemaker and a member of the Rock Springs Baptist Church.
Edna is survived by five sons: Billy Ray Jordan and his wife Joyce of Girdler, Anderson Jordan and his wife Jacqueline of Bimble, Charles Jordan and his wife Nellie of Girdler, Thomas Jordan and his wife Darlene of Blanchester, Ohio, and Orlan Jordan and his wife Karen of Blanchester, Ohio. Three daughters Irma Jewell Messer and her husband Floyd of Girdler, Nettie Smith and her husband Arvil of Girdler, and Axie Brown and her husband David of Bimble, one brother: Bert Smith and his wife Lula of Gray, KY, four half-sisters, Stella, Marie, Barb, and Merica. Edna is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband Edna was preceded in death by two daughters Rosetta and Verna Jordan, seven brothers Chester, Bob, Brack, Burchell, Anderson, Bill, and Walter Smith, three sisters: Bessie Harris, Lily Mae Smith, and Dorothy Vaughn one deceased grandson Billy Dwayne Smith and one great granddaughter Brianna Smith, one son in law Rev. Lewis Smith, and one half-brother Jimmy Smith.
Funeral services for Edna Jordan will be conducted at 1PM Thursday at the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Calvin Jordan Cemetery at Hammons Fork. The family of Edna Jordan will receive friends after 4PM Wednesday at the Hampton Funeral Home.
