Mrs. Edith Mae Mills, age 79, of Jeffs Creek Road, Stinking Creek, KY, passed away on Friday, October 11, 2013, in the Knox County Hospital. She was the widow of J. C. Mills, and the daughter of the late Lloyd and Allie Jordan Baker, born to them on December 29, 1933, in Knox County, KY. She was a member of the Jeffs Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors of Mrs. Mills include two sons, Robert Mills and wife Debbie, Barbourville, KY and Michael Mills, Middletown, Ohio, seven daughters, Ima Jean Grubb, London, KY, Barbara Mills, Corbin, KY, Beulah Whitaker and husband Ron, London, KY, Mary Woolum and husband Terry, Barbourville, KY, Sherry Tarter, Loveland, Ohio, Charlene Mills, and fiancé Joey, Zebulon, North Carolina, and Connie Mills and husband Wayne, Flat Lick, KY, fourteen grandchildren, Eric Grubb, Dena Grubb, Donietta Hawkey, Rodney McDowell, Jason Woolum, Jeremy Woolum, Robyn Thompson, Danielle Mills, Kaysey Lawson, Justin Tarter, Ashley Ward, Robbie Mills, Christopher Scott Mills, and Timothy Aaron Swafford, fifteen great-grandchildren, Danika Grubb, Cheyenne Mills, Dawson McDowell, Sarah McDowell, Rowen Hawkey, Aimee Kate Woolum, Aubrey Beth Woolum, Bryce Thompson, Ethan Thompson, Ava Elise Lawson, Addison Brooke Swafford, Brailon Alijah Ward, Jacob Dalton Ward, Christopher Scott Mills, Jr., and Allie Faye Mills, plus a host of other relatives and friends who mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Mrs. Edith Mae Mills will be conducted in the chapel of the Hampton Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 16, at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. A.Y. Mills and Rev. Vernon Morris officiating. Burial will follow in the Baker Cemetery, at Jeffs Creek, KY. Pallbearers will be Mike Timmer, Wayne Mills, Joey Bailey, Ron Whitaker, and grandsons, Jason Woolum, Jeremy Woolum, Christopher Mills, Robbie Mills, and Eric Grubb. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Home Monday evening from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, 10:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m., and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 1:00 p.m.
