Edith Marie Creasy

Mrs. Edith Marie Creasy age 90 of Girdler, KY departed this life on Friday, May 15, 2015 in the Baptist Health Hospital in Corbin. She was the daughter of Cofield and Ellen (Barnes) Chadwell, born to them on April 1, 1925. She united in marriage with James Robert Creasy and to this union four children were born.
Mrs. Creasy was a member of the New Life Fellowship Church of God at Trace Branch. She had also been a teacher's aide at Girdler Elementary School for many years and along with her husband she owned and operated Creasy's Grocery at Girdler.
Her parents and husband precede her in death along with an infant sister, four brothers, Floyd, Lester, Cofield, Jr. and Edgar Chadwell and four other sisters, Hazel Dollins, Cleadie Chadwell, Myrtle Disney and Nora Ray.
She is survived by two sons, Ronald Creasy and wife Sherril of Lily, KY and Michael Creasy and fiance' Margaret of Cincinnati, Ohio, two daughters, Brenda Droke and husband Jim of Cincinnati and Glenda Lois Creasy of Girdler, four grandchildren, Marcus Creasy of Lexington, Danah Bargo and husband Mike of Corbin, Jessica Creasy of Corbin and Anna Droke of Cincinnati, one brother Rufus Chadwell of Cincinnati, three step great grandchildren and one step great, great grandchild. Mrs. Creasy also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Mrs. Edith Marie Creasy will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Greg Bowden and Mike Bargo officiating. Pallbearers will be, Marcus Creasy, James Bowden, Homer Stacy, Mike Bargo, Jim Droke and Gerald Stacy. Burial will follow in the Stacy Cemetery at Girdler. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Home on Tuesday, from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m.
