Mr. Earnest Smith age 59, of Cannon, KY, departed this life on Saturday night in the U.T. Hospital. He was the son of Richard Smith and Nellie (Mason) Smith born to them on October 17, 1950 in Knox County.
Mr. Smith was a retired Veteran of the United States Army; he also retired from Firestone, and was a member of the Horn Branch Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father Richard Smith.
Left behind to mourn his passing is his Mother Nellie Smith of Girdler, KY, two sons Richard Smith of Three Oaks Michigan, and Earnest Smith, Jr of Cannon, KY, three brothers Johnnie (Tiny)Smith & wife Shirley of London, KY, Beve Smith of Louisville, KY, and Randall Smith of Ada, Ohio, four sisters Ada Marlene Shannon & husband Wayne of Knoxville, TN, Martha Ann Gail Whitt of Lima, Ohio, Anna May (Shorty)Palte & husband Robert of Beaverdam, Ohio, and Cleada Jackson of Cannon, KY, two grandchildren Jonathan, and Nathan. Plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Smith will be conducted on Tuesday, October 19th, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Owen Smith, Rev. Jabe Smith, and Rev. Johnny Fisher officiating. Pallbearers will be Nephews, with an Honorary Pallbear John Smith. Burial will follow in the Bingham Cemetery at Cannon. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the Hampton Funeral Home on Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 11:00 a.m.
