Mr. Douglas Kelly age 66 of Barbourville, KY departed this life on Thursday, January 2, 2009 in the Oak Tree Hospital in Corbin, KY. He was the son of the late Fred & Nannie (Warren) Kelly of Knox Co. born to them on December 03, 1942 and the widower of Thelma (Smith) Kelly. Mr. Kelly was retired from G.E. where he had been an assembly worker. He believed in the Holiness faith and enjoyed painting and artwork, he also liked to carve wood figurines with his hands. He was a member of the boy scouts as a child. His wife, his parents, and one brother Fred Kelly Jr, and two sisters Billie, and Roberta preceded Mr. Kelly in death.


Survivors include, one son Michael of Louisville, KY, one daughter Tammie Hazelwood & husband Ronnie of Louisville, KY, four brothers Frank Kelly & wife Chelcia of Barbourville, KY, Vaughn Kelly & wife Shirley of Louisville, KY Glenn Kelly of Barbourville, KY, Codell Kelly & wife of Forth worth, TX, three sisters June Baker of Shreveport, Louisiana, Jessie Alexander of Haywood, Calf, Abby Arvel of Shreveport, Louisiana, and seven Grandchildren and one Great Grandchild. Mr. Kelly also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. Funeral services for Mr. Kelly will be conducted on Sunday – January 04, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Fred Disney officiating. Pallbearers will be Family & Friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Knox County Hospital, Dr. Pederson, Dr. West, Mr. Leroy Nelson. Mr. Kelly will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.  The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6:00p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
