Mrs. Doris Jean Smith age 56 of Flat Lick, KY went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 19, 2014. She was the daughter of Victor & Viola Mills born to them on March 19, 1958. On October 24, 1980 she united in marriage with Colonel Smith and to this union four children were born. Doris was a member of the Hubbard Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, fishing and hunting.
She is preceded in death by one son Ken Smith, her parents Victor & Viola, one sister Delois Mills and one brother Donald Ray Mills.
Those left behind to mourn her passing, her loving husband of thirty four years, Colonel Smith, her beloved children, three daughters, Melissa Ward and husband Michael of Hinkle, Linda Smith and husband Eric of Woolum and Brenda Broughton and husband Keith of Barbourville, three grandchildren, Abigail Ward, Austin Ward and Braxton Broughton, four sisters, Brenda Mills and Beatrice Mills both of Barbourville, Mildred Smith and husband Cleveland of Bimble and Ann Liford and husband Dean of Hinkle, two brothers, Victor Mills, Jr. and wife Mae and Denver Mills all of Scalf, KY. She also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Mrs. Doris Smith will be conducted on Friday, October 24, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Herman Mills and Rev. Jerry Smith officiating. Pallbearers will be Michal Ward, Keith Broughton, Eric Smith, Ernest Mills, Challice Mills, Paul Mills, Charles Carnes and Joe Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be, Tri Co. Hospice and the Commonwealth Cancer Center. Burial will follow in the Smith Family Cemetery. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.

Friends may call at the Hampton Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m., on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00.
