Donald Brewer

Mr. Donald Brewer age 74 of Barbourville, KY departed this life on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at his home. He was the son of Charles and Nell (Sanders) Brewer born to them on April 28, 1940. On July 2, 1977, he united in marriage with Anna Lee Smith and to this union one daughter was born. Mr. Brewer retired from Barbourville Utility Commission after 30 years. He was a member of the Apple Grove Baptist Church where he served as Trustee, Sunday School Superintendent, Youth Sunday School Teacher and assistant brotherhood director. Donald loved spending time with his grandson, he also enjoyed sports and fishing in his spare time.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Nell Brewer, a brother, Jack Brewer and sister in law Sue Brewer along with his mother and father in law, Wilton and Ellen Smith.
Left behind to mourn his passing, his loving wife Anna Brewer of Barbourville, his daughter, Michelle Scearse and husband Reed and grandson Conner Reed all of Harlan, KY, a half brother, James Robinson and wife Tammy and a half sister, Joanne Shelton and husband Eugene all of Barbourville, his dear friends, Ron Phipps, Lewis Hopper, Jack Ketcham, Don Hyden, Lee Pope, Luke & Irene Israel, Rev. Denvil Taylor, Glenna and Charles and Cordia Ann Lawson, Ray Canady , Johnny & Joan Gray. Mr. Brewer also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Brewer will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home chapel on Friday at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Denvil Taylor and Rev. Sam Moore officiating. Pallbearers will be family & friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Apple Grove Baptist Church, Bailey Switch Fire Dept. Barbourville Fire Dept., Air Evac Life Team, Barbourville Utility Commission employees and former employees, Knox Co. EMS, Professional Home Health, Dr. Pederson and Dr. West and staff. Mr. Brewer will be laid to rest in the Israel and Sanders Family Cemetery. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 1:00 p.m.
