Mrs. Dollie Jean Matlock age 74 of Bryant Store, KY departed this life on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at her daughter’s home in Barbourville. She was born in Leslie Co., KY on April 7, 1943 the daughter of William and Ersie (Mosley) Duff. She united in marriage with John Matlock who preceded her in death in October 1999. Dollie was a homemaker and a member of God’s Temple where she loved attending church.
In addition to her husband she is also preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, Ersie Virginia Kay Helton, four brothers, John Henry Duff, Granville Duff, Shelb Duff and J.C. Duff, two sisters, Delora Coots and Sarah Lou Duff and on great grand daughter, Kaylee.
Left behind to mourn her passing, two sons, Hubert Helton and wife Janice of Barbourville and Rema Helton and wife Karen of Corbin, two daughters, Tina St. John and friend Dwight of Barbourville and Nickie Davidson and friend Chris Brown of Owensboro, KY, ten grandchildren, Christy, Misty, Meagan, Johnathan, Travis, Kara, Tacota, Megan, Aleecia and Lilliana, five great grandchildren, Kylie, Kaiden, Kaylin, Alyssa and Ian. She also leaves behind a special friend Carrie Lowe and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Dollie Jean Matlock will be conducted in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ray Dean and Rev. Pete Clark officiating. Pallbearers will be, Johnathan Helton, Sonny Hayes, Chris Brown, Brent Ledford, Gary Martin, Travis Helton, Bill Nichols and Tacota St. John. Honorary pallbearers will be, Bluegrass Hospice Care nurses and staff. She will be laid to rest in the Wilson Cemetery at Bryant Store. Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home will in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home on Friday from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 12 noon until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
