Mr. Denver "Silver Dust" Smith age 81 of Barbourville, KY departed this life on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 in the Knox Co. Hospital. He was the husband of Vivian (Mills) Smith and the son of Albert & Martha Smith. He was born in Knox Co. on November 17, 1930. He believed in the Baptist faith and was a member of the Roadside Baptist Church. Mr. Smith was retired from Forest Products and enjoyed fox hunting and being with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert & Martha Smith, three brothers, Clyde, Kenneth & Curt Smith, two sisters, Ann Gray and Roxie Smith, a step brother, Claude Mills, step sisters, Rosa Sizemore, Sally Jackson and Martha Mills.
Left behind to mourn his passing is his wife Vivian Smith of Barbourville, two daughters, Lisa Ann Callebs and husband Johnny of Hinkle. KY and Gina Denise Bennett and husband Mark of Gray, KY, one son James Patrick Smith of Barbourville, his grandchildren, Susie Smith, Ashley Callebs Wilson, James Aaron Smith, Holly Bennett Wright and Justin Trevor Bennett, his great grandchildren, McKenzie Stewart and Crystal Wright, two sisters, Amy Smith Beckelhumer and husband Wayne of Cincinnati, Ohio and Zelma Smith and husband Paul of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, step sisters, Virgie Mills and husband Harrison of Flat Lick and Axie Castle and husband Herman of Indiana, half brother Rev. A.Y. Mills and wife Helen of Barbourville, KY. Mr. Smith also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Denver Smith will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, March 30, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. David Shelton and Rev. Ricky Partin officiating. Pallbearers will be family & friends. Burial will follow in the Henry Mills Cemetery at Stinking Creek. Hampton Funeral Hme will be in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
