Mr. David McVey age 70, of Barbourville, KY passed away on Friday evening at
His home. He was born on October 12, 1938 in Harlan County, KY to the late James & Georgie (Payne) McVey. He was the husband of Florence (Buchanan) McVey.
Mr. McVey was a member of the Scalf Chapel Pentecostal Church; he enjoyed Carpenter work and selling cars. Mr. McVey had been a former owner & operator of his own car lot.
His parents, James & Georgie McVey, one brother, and three sisters preceded him in death.
Survivors include: his wife Florence of Barbourville, KY, and one son Michael Buchanan of Barbourville, KY, Honorary daughter Virginia Faye Buchanan, Honorary brothers, Bill Buchanan, and Jimmy Buchanan and one Honorary sister Betsy Tuggle.
Funeral services for Mr. David McVey will be conducted at the Hampton Funeral Home Monday April 6, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Ted Satterfield & Rev. Charles Lee officiating. Burial will follow in the Buchanan Cemetery with Michael Buchanan, Sammy Buchanan, Bill Buchanan, Kenny Buchanan, James Hubbard, and Rick Peters serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Paul Baker, Bluegrass Hospice, Dr. Carl Mitchell & staff, and Dr. Watts & Staff. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
