.Mr. Dallas Shields, Jr. age 56 of Corbin, KY departed this life on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 in the UK Medical Center in Lexington. He was the son of Vera Shields and the late Dallas Shields. He was born in Knox Co. on August 17, 1957. He had been a Coal Miner and an employee of Phillips Tree Service.
He is preceded in death by his father Dallas Shields, his grandparents, Joe & Effie Shields, one son Dallas Shields, III, and one brother, William Russell Shields.
Left behind to mourn his passing, his mother Vera Shields of Corbin, his wife, Debbie (Mills) Shields of Corbin, a daughter, Jewell Eidson and husband Curtis of Flat Lick, two brothers, Joey Shields and Mark Shields both of Corbin, three sisters, Patricia Alrubia of Knoxville, TN, Delores Dolen and husband Bobby of McCreary Co. and Nancy Shields Mills of Barbourville, five grandchildren, Nathaniel Eidson,Isaiah Eidson, Babie Eidson, Uriah Dallas Eidson and Nevaeh Eidson all of Flat Lick. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Dallas Shields will be conducted on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Leslie Broughton officiating. Pallbearers will be family & friends. Burial will follow in the Hammons Cemetery at Girdler. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Home on Friday evening
From 6:30 until 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
