Mrs. Cordie Myrick age 94 of Bimble, KY, departed this life on Monday night August 16th, 2010 in the Barbourville Nursing Home. She was the widow of Dallas Martin, and the daughter of James Frank (Jim) & Bertha (Sams) Payne born to them on August 25th, 1915 in Knox Co.
Mrs. Myrick was a homemaker and a member of the Springfield Baptist Church, she enjoyed cooking, talking with friends, and cleaning house.
She was preceded in death by her parents Jim & Bertha Payne, her husband Dallas Martin, three brothers Charley, Garrett, and Moss Payne, four sisters Mary Gray, Marie Brock, Sylvia Mullins, and infant baby sister Tiny, and a daughter in-law Thelma Martin.
Left behind to mourn her passing is her son Jesse James Martin of Bimble, KY, her daughter Sharon Smith & husband Jim of Bimble, KY, nine Grandchildren, D.J. & Lora Martin, Tony & Michelle Martin, Carmen & Alvin Hickman, Angel & Daniel Patterson, Shane & Ann Martin, Brandon & Jade Martin, Hope Martin, Nicole & Scott Lake, and James & Wanda Smith. Twenty three Great Grandchilren Sarra & Lyle, Austin, Houston, Eric & Holly, Kyle & Liz, Samantha, Dylan, Paige, Taylor, Brayden, Sean & Jessica, Megan, Hanna, Courtney, Jordan, Chloe Beth, Bailey, Kayleen, Skyler, Keith, Zackary, Haleigh, and Shyann, one Great Great Grandchild Kaydence, plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Cordie Myrick will be conducted on Thursday – August 19th, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Chesnut officiating. Pallbearers will be Grandsons & Great Grandsons. Burial will follow in the Yeager/Powell Cemetery. The family of Cordie Myrick would like to say a special “Thank You” to the staff of Knox County Hospital and their Long term unit, and Barbourville Nursing Home. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the Hampton Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 7:00 p.m until 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 1:00 p.m.
