Mrs. Cordie Hubbard, age 78 of Hinkle, Ky., the widow of Lark Hubbard and the daughter of Chester & Florence (Mills) Bargo was born on August 27, 1929 and departed this life in the Knox County Hospital on Monday- August 18, 2008. Mrs. Hubbard was a member of the Dripping Springs Baptist Church. She was a homemaker who enjoyed quilting and canning, and just talking on the phone. She is preceded in death by her parents Chester & Florence Bargo, her husband Lark Hubbard, two sisters Elsie Hubbard and Lily Bargo, one sister-in-law Carolyn Bargo, and two brother-in-law.
Survivors include her son David Hubbard & wife Joyce of Salt Gum, Ky., three daughters Faye Moore & husband Keith of Taylor, MI, Sherry Carnes & husband Sammy of Walker, Ky., Betty Parks & husband Charlie of Bimble, Ky., one brother James Bargo of Wayne, Mich., seven sisters Eller Smith & husband Melvin of Hinkle, Ky., Axie Bargo of Hinkle, Ky., Troy Wilson & husband Ray Otis of Hinkle, Ky., Eva Grubb & husband Percy of Belleview, MI, Marlene Price & husband Randall of Belleview, MI,, Doris Williamson & husband John of Corbin, Ky., Thelma Mills of Corbin, Ky., A special grandson who was like a son to her James David Hubbard, ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren, a brother-in-law Howard Hubbard of Hinkle, Ky., plus a host of other relatives and friends who are left to mourn her passing. The family would also like to send a special “Thank You” to her nursing aids, Leann Helton and Lynn Wagers. Funeral services for Mrs. Hubbard will be conducted on Friday- August 22, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Justin Morris, Rev. Ricky Broughton, Rev. Kennon Roark, Rev. Dewayne Smith, and Rev. Lonnie Collett officiating. Burial will follow in the Callebs Creek Cemetery at Hinkle, KY . Pallbearers will be Nathan Parks, Homer Green, Kyle Moore, Justin Speak, Mitchell Hubbard, Ricky Mills, Donald Hubbard, James Ray Hubbard, and James David Hubbard along with a special pallbearer Thelma Saylor. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Dr. Comb’s, & Dr. Vora’s office. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6-9, Thursday 9-9 and Friday 9-2 at Hampton Funeral Home.
