Mrs. Cordia Burnett age 93 of London, KY passed away on Saturday morning - October 1st, 2011 in the U.K. medical center in Lexington, KY. She was the widow of James T. Burnett and the daughter of the late George & Rosa Mason of Knox County born to them on August 2nd, 1918.
Cordia was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church.
Besides her husband & parents she was preceded in death by three sisters Nellie White, Florida Hamm and Francis Caswell, Four brothers Bill, Jess, Edd and Gillis Mason.
Left behind to mourn her passing is her three daughters Marlene Napier & husband Paul of Pineville, KY, Wanda Sue Mills & husband Billy of London, KY, and Peggy McCartt and husband Ron of Huntsville, AL, Seven sons Bobby Lee Burnett & wife Beverly of Walker, KY, BG Burnett & wife Avon of Walsworth, WI, James Jr. Burnett & wife Carol of Turkey, NC, Clifford Burnett of London, KY, Wrondle Burnett & wife Judy of Barbourville, KY, Billy Burnett & wife Beverly of Hinkle, KY, and Michael Burnett & wife Laura of London, KY 16 Grandchildren, and 31 Great Grandchildren, plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Cordia Burnett will be conducted on Wednesday - October 5th, 2011 @ 2:00 in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kennon Roark & Rev. Lonnie Collett officiating. Pallbearers will be Grandsons, with Great Grandson serving as Honorary Pallbearers. Burial will follow in the Hammons Cemetery at Flat Lick. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. The Funeral home will also be open to the public for viewing from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
