Mr. Clinton Gray, age 77, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2019 at his home in Hinkle, Kentucky. He was the son of Enos and Cleo (Mills) Gray, born to them on in March 26, 1942, in Barbourville, Kentucky. Clinton was the husband of the late Zella Gray. He was a mechanic for the Knox County Board of Education Transportation Department, enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was an avid UK Wildcats fan.
Clinton was preceded in death by his loving wife Zella Gray, his parents Enos and Cleo (Mills) Gray, sons Ricky Lynn Gray and Stephen Gray.
Left behind to mourn are his daughter Rita Dople and fiancé Brian Bunch of Corbin, Kentucky, sons Ronnie Gray of Girdler, Kentucky, Darryl Gray and wife Penny of Girdler, Kentucky, daughter-in-law Deborah Gray of Woolum, Kentucky, eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, brother Clayton Gray and wife Lula of Girdler, Kentucky, sisters Anna Lee Bruner of London, Kentucky, Brenda Gray of Corbin, Kentucky and Wanda Fay Hollins and husband Ed of London, Kentucky. He also leaves behind many other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
The family would like to offer special thanks to the nurses of Baptist Health Hospital in Corbin for their care of Clinton and to the Knox County Board of Education for their continued support.
Funeral Services for Mr. Clinton Gray will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Lonnie Collett and Bob Frederick officiating. Pallbearers will Bob Frederick, Larry Helton, Doyle Smith, Denver Smith, Earnie Smith, Richard Edwards, Lonnie Smith and Clinton Anthony Gray. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Knox County Board of Education Transportation Department. Burial will follow in the Gray Cemetery in Girdler, Kentucky. Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Friends may call at Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home on Monday, August 26, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., and on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
