Mr. Claude Richard Lawson age 80 of Bimble, KY departed this life on Saturday morning, March 10, 2018 in the Diversicare of Claiborne Nursing Home in New Tazewell, TN. He was the husband of Bernice Lawson and the son of Jess “Red” Lawson and Rachel Alford Lawson born to them on May 4, 1937 in Artemus, KY. Claude believed in the Baptist faith. He retired from Nutone and enjoyed fishing and hunting and Nascar Races and loved going to McDonald’s every morning to meet his friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one daughter Malinda Rose, two sisters, Myrtle Lawson and Helen Davis and a grandson Joseph Lawson.
Those left behind to mourn his passing his loving wife of thirty-seven years Bernice Lawson, two sons, Claude Richard Lawson, Jr. and wife Anita Yvette of Falmouth, KY and Claude Patrick Lawson of Berea, KY, one daughter, Candy Lynn Johnson and husband James of Independence, KY, eight grandchildren, Rachel Rose, Corey Lawson, Miranda Lawson, Morgan Lawson, Patricia Lawson, Amanda Johnson, Gabriel Johnson and Jennifer Nicole Lawson Wylie, six great grandchildren, Johnathan Rose, Cameron Lawson, Ivy Lawson, Allie Lawson, Xander Todd and Aubree Hinkle. He also leaves behind his McDonald’s family along with a host of many other relatives and dear friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Claude Richard Lawson will be conducted in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Samuel Lawson officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Sam Lawson, Bill Singleton, Rich Lawson, B.P. Sowders, Jimmy Johnson and Donnie Lawson. Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
