Mrs. Christine King Davis age 69 of Flat Lick, KY departed this life on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at her home. She was born May 2, 1940 in Bell Co., KY to Otto and Mable (Williams) King. Mrs. Davis believed in the Baptist faith. She loved shopping, cleaning house, reading, watching TV and being with her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Mable King, one son Randy Gray, one daughter, “Cookie” Gray, one brother, Tommy King, one sister Ruth Moore plus several other sisters and three grandchildren Nathen, Beth, Buck.
Survivors include two sons, Tony Gray of Flat Lick and Tommy Gray of Corbin, three daughters, Karen Vaughn of Flat Lick, Jeannie Payne of Bimble and Amy Gray and Jack Farthing of Kennesaw, GA, one brother, James Edward “Whitey” King, four sisters, Emma Noble of Flat Lick, Erma Claria and husband Rick of Smokey, Sherry Mills of Corbin and Mossie Mills of Flat Lick, grandchildren April, Jolene and husband Davey, Janie, Rodney, Arthur and wife Faith, Jeremy, Jeanie, Casey, Cody and Cheyenne, great grandchildren Robbie Haley, Charlie, Will, George, Dalton, Kensie and Elliy, special brothers in law, Ed Moore and Ellis Noble both of Corbin. Mrs. Davis also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Mrs. Christine Davis will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. John Payne and Rev. Rick Musick officiating. Pallbearers will be, Arthur Vaughn, Coy Powers, Jeremy Payne, Bobby Reeves, Tim Ryan Reeves and Rodney Gray. Honorary Pallbearers will be, special friend “Buster” Eversole, Judy and Shirl Gray, Marie Mills, Hospice Aides-Rita, Kathy, Brenda, Marsha and Louis Hopper, Robbie, Charlie, Cody, Dalton and George. Mrs. Davis will be laid to rest in the Paula Gray Cemetery at Flat Lick. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00.
