Mr. Charlie Warren age 85 of Barbourville departed this life on Monday, May 3, 2010 in the Knox Co. Hospital. He was the husband of Opal Broughton Warren, and the son of Jim & Dora (Reynolds) Warren of Bell County. He was born to them on February 25th, 1925. Mr. Warren believed in the Baptist faith, and was a coal miner in Harlan, KY for over 40 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jim & Dora Warren, two sons Johnny Warren and Larry West, one daughter Pamela Warren , two very special sons-in-law Tony Osborne and Kenneth Fannon, three brothers Floyd Warren, Oscar Beverly and Arthur (Archie) Beverly, and three sisters Alice Smith, Ethel Warren Hall and Gladys Hooker.
He is survived by his loving wife of forty one years, Opal Warren of Barbourville, KY, three sons Randy Warren & wife of Harlan, KY, Jerry West & wife Denise of Corbin, KY, and Terry West & wife Karen of Barbourville, KY eight daughters Carol Warren Broughton & husband Kenneth of Barbourville, KY, Elanor Warren of Pineville, KY, Shirley West of Himyar, KY, Sherry West Bertram & Mark of Harrogate, TN, Sheila West Turner of Tallapoosa, AL, Sharon West Smith & husband John of Tazewell, TN, Maggie West Seals & husband Dan of Knoxville, TN, and Carolyn West Fannon of Harrogate, TN, six brothers Eugene Warren & wife Hazel of London, KY, Britten Beverly of Muskegon, Michigan, John Warren, Carlos Lee Warren, Doug Warren, and Bill Warren, two sisters Viola Lewis of Arjay, KY, and Minnie Hooker of Greenwood, Indiana, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren plus a host of other relatives & friends are left to mourn his passing.
Funeral service for Mr. Warren will be conducted on Thursday, May 6th, 2010 at
12:00 noon in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Denvil Taylor officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons Timothy West, Todd Osborne, Johnny Smith, Joshua Smith, David Turner, Dustin West, and Marcus Bertram. Honorary Pallbearers will be Larry West, Jerry West, Ely Broughton, and Mike Broughton. Burial will follow in the West-Warren Cemetery at Barbourville, KY. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
Visitation will be on Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at noon.
