Mr. Charles Jordan age 62 of Barbourville, Kentucky departed this life on Friday, August 24, 2018, at the Barbourville Appalachian Regional Hospital. He was the son of Golden and Edna Lee (Smith) Jordan, born to them on January 14, 1956 in Barbourville. He was a member of the Baptist faith and was a carpenter. Charles loved to fish and play guitar.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Rosetta and Verna, two brothers-in-law Lewis Smith and Arvil Smith, one nephew Billy Smith, one niece Heather Jordan, and great-niece Brianna Smith.
Left behind to mourn his passing, his wife Nellie Jordan, daughter Shannon Taylor and husband Matthew, grandchildren Blake Taylor and McKenzie Taylor, brothers Billy Ray Jordan and wife Joyce of Girdler, Anderson Jordan and wife Jacqueline of Barbourville, Thomas Jordan and wife Darlene of Blanchester, Ohio, Orlan Jordan and wife Karen of Blanchester Ohio and Kenny Hall of Stinking Creek, sisters Axie Brown and husband David of Bimble, Irma Jewel Messer and husband Floyd of Girdler, Nettie Smith of Girdler, and June Van Hook and husband Danny of London. He also leaves behind a host of many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Charles Jordan will be conducted in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at 12:00 p.m. with Reverend Lonnie Collett, Reverend Derry Smith officiating. Pallbearers will be Phillip Jordan, David Smith, Steve Jordan, Robert Jordan, Nick Jordan, Donnie Smith, Charles Ray Brown and David Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Warren, James Sproles, and David Smith. He will be laid to rest in the Calvin Jordan Cemetery at Hammons Fork. Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m.
