Mr. Charles Johnson age 80 of Barbourville, KY departed this life on Friday – October 24, 2008 in the Saint Joseph Hospital in London, KY. He was the husband of Verna (Childers) Johnson, and the son of the late Robert & Dora (Brice) Johnson. His parents, three brothers Jesse, George, Denver, and six sisters Vinnie Hensley, Mary McConnell, Chesney Hurst, Mae Blanton, Della Martin, Pearl Jones preceded Mr. Johnson in death. Mr. Johnson believed in the Holiness faith and was a truck driver and enjoyed bowling, gardening and four wheeling.
Left behind to mourn his passing, his wife Verna, one son Charles Crit Johnson, Jr of Knox Fork,KY. Three daughters Shirley Bentlye of Knox Fork, KY. Mary Ann Parrot & husband John of Pineville, KY. Loretta Johnson of Knox Fork, KY. Two brothers Robert Johnson & wife Hazel of Reading, Penn. Floyd Johnson & wife Anna Lee of Indiana. One sister Zelma Watkins of Gray, KY.Four Grandchildren Rebecca Rains, John Parrott, Chelsea Johnson, Mindy Brigmon. One Great Grand child Joseph Bingham. Plus a host of other family & friends to mourn his passing. Funeral services for Mr. Johnson will be conducted on Monday – October 27, 2008 at 12:00 noon at the Powell Cemetery, with the Rev. Mann Cobb officiating. Pallbearers will be Family & Friends. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements. The family will receive friends at the Hampton Funeral Home on Sunday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
