Charles Gray

Mr. Charles Gray age 93 of Girdler, KY departed this life on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 in the Barbourville Health & Rehabilitation Center. He was the son of Hiram Gray and Bessie Marie (Young) Gray born to them on September 12, 1921 in Jackson, KY. He was a member of the Scalf Chapel Pentecostal Church and was baptized on December 5, 1982. He loved watching UK Basketball, the News, Army Shows and Westerns and also enjoyed hunting. He served his country in the United States Army. He united in marriage with Fannie Arwood and later with Mary Belle Ledford who both precede him in death. He is also preceded in death by his parents, one son Tim Gray, one grandchild, three brothers, Clarence, Thomas and Bennie and one sister Nellie Russell.
Survivors include, three sons, Charles Gray, Jr. and wife Carol of Sacramento, California, Jerry Gray and wife Bonnie of Goshen, Ohio and Robert Spencer and wife Sandy of Cincinnati, Ohio, two daughters, Carlene Pierce and husband Rick of Girdler and Darlene Mooneyham and husband Wade of Heidrick, KY, one brother, Frank Gray and wife Alice of Goshen, Ohio, nine grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. He also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Charles Gray will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, May 22, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Tommy Frazier and Rev. Clay Bishop, III officiating. Pallbearers will be Jackson Burnette, Sam Burnette, Jonathan Singleton, Brandon Jackson and Billy Barrett. Honorary pallbearers will be all the nurses and staff and the physical therapy dept. at Barbourville Health & Rehabilitation Center. He will be laid to rest in the Hampton Cemetery at Girdler. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Home on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
