Mr. Cecil Stewart age 83of Barbourville, KY formerly of Acorn Fork passed away on Monday - June 13th, 2011 in the Knox County Hospital. He was the widower of Della (Jackson) Stewart and the son of the late Jeff & Reanie (Jackson) Stewart of Knox County born to them on October 8th, 1927.
Mr. Stewart was a member of the Salem Baptist Church and was retired from Plastics Universal where he was a foreman. He also a former employee of the Knox County Road Department.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Della, one daughter Betty Sue Jordan, and brothers Lonzo Stewart, M.C. Stewart and Vernon Jackson plus several other half brothers and one sister Gelema Slusher.
Left behind to mourn his passing is two daughters Tammy Rutledge & husband Daniel of Mt. Washington, KY, and Wanda Messer of Flat Lick, KY, one sister Myrtle Warren of Michigan. Nine grandchildren Robin, Amber, Daniel, Phillip Cecil, Benika, Rod, Delisa, Derhonda, and Addisyn, and Seven Great Grandchildren Raegan, McKinlea, Kara, Jarod, Chad, Britt, and Alex. Plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Stewart will be conducted on Friday - June 17th, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Teddy Collins & Rev. Bobby Abner officiating. Pallbearers will be family & friends. Honorary Pallbearers are Dr. James West, and Dr. Larry Warren, The family also would like to say a special "Thank you" to his caregiver Cindy Fuston. Burial will follow in the Davis Cemetery. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the Hampton Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from twelve noon until 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 2:00 p.m.
