Cathleen Mills

Mrs. Cathleen Mills age 75 of Hammond, KY passed away on Friday – April 24, 2009 at her home. She was daughter of Harlan and Axie Williamson Cole and was born to them on July 8, 1933 in Knox Co., On April 14, 1949 she united in marriage with Joe Mills, Jr. and to this union three children were born. She was a member of the Mills Missionary Baptist church and was a homemaker. She loved to tend her garden and work in her flowers.
She was preceded in death by her parents Harlan and Axie Cole, three grandchildren, Brian Stacey Mills, Crystal Gail Mills and Donovan Tait Mills, two brothers Jim & Clifford Cole and two infant brothers, Harlan Cole, Jr. and Jeff Kenneth Cole, one sister Sallie Mills and many other brothers and sisters in law.
Survivors include her husband Joe Mills, Jr. of Hammond, two sons, Don Mills and wife Jane of Corbin, KY, Darrell Mills and wife Jennie of Corbin, one daughter Vickie Abner and husband E.G. Abner of Heidrick, KY, two sisters Beulah Merida of Hammond, KY, Wanda Field and Husband Bob of Batavia, OH, five brothers, Everett Cole and wife Helen of Westchester, Ohio, Harold Cole and wife Francis of Goshen, OH, Raymond Cole and wife Joanne of Bowling Green, KY, Curtis Cole and wife Wanda of Paris, KY and David Cole of Westchester, Ohio, two Grandchildren Brittany VanDecar and husband James of Richmond, KY, Jeremy Abner and wife Joey of Girdler, KY, one great grandchild, Rylee Elizabeth VanDecar, brothers and sisters in law, Myrtle Cole of Hammond, KY, Ruth Cole of Fairfield, Ohio, Lester Mills of Scalf, KY and Cleadie Mills of Bimble, KY. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Mrs. Cathleen Mills will be conducted on Monday-April 27, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Carnes, Rev. Jerry Smith and Rev. Herman Mills officiating. Burial will follow in the Cole’s Branch Cemetery at Hammond, KY with the men of Mills Missionary Baptist Church serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Friends and Neighbors. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.

The Mills family will receive friends on Sunday-April 26, 2009 at Hampton Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
