Mrs. Carolyn Abner age 64, of Artemus, Ky passed away Monday-April 16, 2007 at the Knox Co. Hospital.
She was the wife of James Abner, Jr. Mrs. Abner was the daughter of the late Elmer Chaives and the late Edith Pillion Chaives born to them on September 4, 1942 in Himyar, Ky. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Barbourville. Mrs. Abner was preceded in death by her parents, brother: Eddie Chaives, Mother and Father in-law: Jim and Grace Abner: sister-in-laws Ruby Abner, Shirley Abner, Dorothy Abner, and Phyllis Abner. Brother-in-laws: Willie Shelton , Mitchell Abner, Bill Tom Miller,Claude Bo Abner and Bob Abner; and dear nephew: William Kendall (Chopper) Miller. SURVIVORS INCLUDE: Husband: James Abner, Jr. of Artemus, Ky. Son: Mike Abner and wife Stella of Gray, KY Daughter: Jill Mills and Danny Angel of Artemus, Ky. Sister: Kathy Chaives of Norfolk, Va. Debbie Ross and husband Greg of Artemus, Ky. Brothers: Larry Ray Chaives of Artemus Johnny Chaives and wife Pauletta of Gray, Ky. Junior Chaives and wife Kathy of Corbin, Ky. Sister-in-laws: Carolyn Abner of Artemus Cindy Shelton of Artemus Amanda Miller of Artemus Percilla Abner of Artemus Brother-in-laws: Troy Abner of Artemus Clarence Abner of Artemus Mrs. Abner also leaves behind her grandchildren: James Michael Abner and wife Tabitha, Adam Lee , and Brooke Leshea; in addition to great-grandchildren: Tyler Ray and Mackenzie Paige to mourn her passing. Funeral services for Mrs. Carolyn Abner will be conducted on Wednesday-April 18, 2007 at 2 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ricky Partin officiating. Pallbearers will be James Michael Abner, Adam Lee, Steve Abner, Greg C haives, Gary Mills, Matt Mills, Mike Lambert, Tim Smith and Marty Gray. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Long Term Care staff of the Barbourville Hospital. Burial will follow in the Stewart-Abner Cemetery at Artemus, Ky. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
